The Situation
AI Smart Glass sells switchable smart film. It turns clear glass frosted at the touch of a button. We told the launch story in our first case study: zero enquiries to $100K+ months in four months, driven by Meta and Google ads.
This case study is about something we did not sell them.
AI Smart Glass never signed an SEO package. No link building. No monthly content. No ongoing optimisation. What they did have was a website we designed and built from the ground up, with the structure, copy and technical setup done properly from day one.
While we ran their ads, something else was happening in the background. Buyers stopped asking Google alone. They started asking ChatGPT and Google’s AI who they should hire. In this market, the AI’s answer is the shortlist. If you are not in it, you do not get the call.
So months after launch, we audited their AI visibility. We wanted to know one thing: was the foundation we built enough to get a brand new company recommended by AI, up against manufacturers who have been in the market for over a decade?
The Diagnosis
AI assistants do not rank pages the way Google used to. They build a shortlist. And to make that shortlist, our testing across dozens of Australian service categories shows a business needs three things.
AI systems must be able to read the site. Many businesses block AI crawlers without knowing it, or bury their content in scripts AI cannot parse. Blocked means invisible.
The site must state plain facts AI can lift and quote. AI answers are assembled from sentences the model can reuse. Who you are, what you install, where you work, in words a machine can repeat with confidence. Vague brand copy gets skipped. Clear factual copy gets quoted.
The entity must be consistent everywhere. The website, the Google Business Profile and the reviews all need to describe the same business the same way. ChatGPT’s local results lean heavily on this data. Mismatches break trust, and AI does not recommend what it cannot verify.
Most new businesses fail all three, because their website was built to look good, not to be read by machines.
AI Smart Glass had a head start
Their site was built with all three requirements in mind before “GEO” was even a buzzword. Machine-readable structure, quotable copy and a consistent entity were baked into the build itself, not bolted on later. This case study measures what that foundation earned on its own.
What We Did
01
We built the site around the entity, not just the design
Before any design work, we defined the entity: who AI Smart Glass is, what they install, which sectors they serve, and where they operate. That structure became the site architecture. Every page answers a question a buyer, or an AI, would actually ask.
Clean headings, crawlable HTML, fast load, canonical URLs. Nothing hidden in scripts, nothing blocking AI crawlers. When a machine visits the site, it finds a business it can fully understand in one pass.
02
We wrote copy designed to be quoted
We wrote the homepage in short, factual, liftable sentences. "Your Smart Privacy Partner in Australia." That is not just brand copy. It is the exact line Google's AI now quotes, word for word, when it answers smart film questions.
When your own words become the AI's answer, you control how you are described. Competitors get summarised. AI Smart Glass gets quoted.
03
We set up the technical SEO foundation on day one
HTTPS, canonical tags, indexable structure, image optimisation, mobile-first build, sub-second load times. None of it is glamorous. All of it decides whether crawlers, including AI crawlers, can access and trust the site.
Independent on-page testing scores the homepage 89.76 out of 100, with the page interactive in 54 milliseconds. Machines do not wait for slow sites, and they do not quote what they cannot crawl.

04
We aligned the entity across Google
We made sure the Google Business Profile, the website and the service descriptions all told the same story: same name, same category, same services, same location.
ChatGPT's local recommendations are built on exactly this data. That consistency is why ChatGPT can list the business with its address, phone number and 5.0 star rating. And it is why, when Australians ask who should install switchable film on their existing windows, ChatGPT lists AI Smart Glass first and puts them in its "get these three quotes" shortlist.
The Results
smart film installation in Australia
these 3 quotes" recommendation
answered with the brand named
"smart glass windows"
When an Australian homeowner asks ChatGPT who should put switchable privacy film on their existing windows, ChatGPT’s answer starts with AI Smart Glass: name, address, phone number, 5.0 rating. When someone googles “smart film australia” or “smart tint australia”, Google’s AI answer names AI Smart Glass as a key supplier and installer, alongside brands that have been in the market for more than ten years. They did not outspend those brands. They out-structured them.
What Ali Said
“We started working with Uprise Digital about a year ago and honestly it’s been a great journey. They also built our website which has been a great home base for the brand”

The Takeaway
Most businesses are now asking how to "do AI SEO" to a website that was built wrong. They want a plugin, a hack, a retrofit.
This case study shows the opposite path. AI Smart Glass never bought an SEO package. Their AI visibility came from decisions made before the site ever went live: a structure machines can read, copy machines can quote, and an entity machines can verify.
AI systems do not recommend the loudest brand. They recommend the one they can read, quote and check. Build for that from day one, and the recommendations follow, even against competitors with a ten year head start.
The ads made the phone ring. The foundation made the AI vouch for them.
