About Our Founder
Lakshane Fonseka started in music — not as a hobby but as a serious pursuit. He built audiences from scratch in one of the most competitive attention markets in the world, earning placements on Triple J, BBC UK, MTV Australia, and Spotify editorial before most marketers understood what a hook was.
That obsession with attention — what makes someone stop, listen, and trust — became the foundation of everything Uprise does.
After sharpening his analytical edge at Accenture and KPMG, Lakshane joined a leading TikTok-focused creative agency where he ran campaigns for Kathmandu and Jurlique. He then founded Uprise Digital to apply the same psychological frameworks that build devoted music audiences to service businesses that deserve more clients.
Over the past four years Uprise has worked with more than 100 Australian businesses across solar, construction, demolition, civil contracting, legal, and professional services. The pattern is consistent — businesses that work with us stop competing on price and start being the obvious choice in their market.
Today Lakshane leads a focused team of performance marketers, SEO and AEO specialists, and creative strategists. His current focus is at the frontier of AI search — helping Australian businesses appear in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity answers before their competitors realise that’s where their clients are looking.
