The best SEO agency Brisbane search results point to depends on which screen you are looking at. On 24 September 2026 we scored Brisbane agencies on eight checks across Google, the map pack, Bing and five AI assistants, and Excite Media came out on top with five. Resurge Digital and BAMBRICK followed with four each.
Two other things stood out in Brisbane. The agency ranked number 1 on Google for “seo agency brisbane” was not named by a single AI assistant. And only 3 of the 11 Brisbane agencies we checked put an SEO price on their website.

Key findings
- Excite Media appeared in 5 of 8 checks, the most of any Brisbane agency. It was the only one named by four of the five AI assistants.
- Digital8 ranked number 1 on Google for two of our three searches and was named in none of the seven AI answers.
- Only 3 of 11 Brisbane agencies publish an SEO price: Rise SEO (from $1,200 a month), Digital Nomads HQ (from $1,500) and consultant Jared Bennett ($2,500 to $5,500 or more). Five publish no price at all.

Facts about the other agencies come from each agency’s own website on 24 September 2026, or its Google listing where we say so. We have not worked with any of these businesses and are not judging the quality of their work.
1. Uprise Digital (our top pick)
This is our own agency, and we put it first because we measure SEO by leads, cost per lead and revenue, not vanity metrics. We are a boutique team based at 10 to 20 Gwynne Street, Cremorne, Melbourne, led by founder Lakshane Fonseka, and we serve Brisbane clients from there as part of our Australia wide work. 2. Excite Media (Toowong)
Ranked 2nd for “seo agency brisbane” and named by ChatGPT, Perplexity (in both answers), Claude and AI Mode. Founders Nathanael Hubbard and Scott Maynard started it on 30 August 2006, and the site says it has more than 40 staff. It shows 5.0 from more than 200 reviews, the biggest count on any Brisbane Google listing we recorded, and lists an Australian Web Awards SEO win from 2021. AI SEO is on its service list. It publishes no prices.
3. Resurge Digital (Fortitude Valley)
Number 1 on Google for “seo brisbane”, in the map pack on two searches, and named by Gemini and Perplexity’s trades answer. Its Google rating is 5.0 from 105 reviews. The site says it works with “Brisbane tradies, service businesses, and growing SMEs”, publishes Google Ads management from $700 a month plus GST, and does not publish an SEO price. It also states plainly that “No legitimate agency can guarantee outcomes.”
4. BAMBRICK (Brisbane CBD)
Ranked 2nd for “seo brisbane”, held the top map pack spot on “best seo agency brisbane”, was named by Google AI Mode first, and appeared in Bing’s top 20. Its office is Level 24, 12 Creek Street. The site names managing director Tim Bambrick, claims more than 25 years in digital marketing and a team of 35 or more, and sells AI SEO and ChatGPT Ads. An Acumentis case study reports 39 keywords at position 1, up from 5. No prices are published.
5. Shout Digital (Adelaide Street)
Ranked 9th for “seo agency brisbane” and named by Gemini and Perplexity. It lists offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, says founder Michael Jenkins opened it in 2010, and shows 4.9 from 80 reviews. It sells separate GEO services for Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. Its Brisbane page offers a 12-month SEO campaign built around “a guaranteed sales forecast”, which is a claim to read closely in the contract. No monthly price is published.
6. Rise SEO (Brendale)
In the map pack for “seo agency brisbane”, ranked 17th or 18th on all three searches, and named by ChatGPT. The site says Mike Hall and Denuel Riondino founded it in 2019 and that it is a team of 5. It publishes SEO retainers at $1,200, $2,400 and $4,800 or more a month and Google Ads management at a flat $595 a month, all month to month. It lists two APAC Search Awards from 2023 and a plumbing case study with 654 tracked phone calls in six months.
7. Edge Marketing (Woolloongabba)
Named by Gemini and Claude and ranked in Bing’s top 20 under its web address edgeonline.com.au, but not in Google’s top 20 on our searches. The site says it started in 2002, names founder Daniel Hunjas and CEO Rohan Dwyer, and has a head of search and AI strategy. It quotes a typical Brisbane SEO cost of $2,000 to $5,000 or more a month rather than its own price. Case studies include OJ Pippin Homes, with organic traffic up 79% in six months.
8. Digital8 (South Brisbane)
Number 1 on Google for both “seo agency brisbane” and “best seo agency brisbane” and in Bing’s top 20, yet no AI assistant named it. The site says it has been in business for more than 15 years, names co-founders Jeff Lynne and Alex Wheeler, and lists more than 20 specialists. Its pricing page starts ongoing marketing management from $2,999 a month on month to month terms. It also builds apps and websites. We found an article on generative engine optimisation but no AI search service page.
9. Jared Bennett (Indooroopilly)
The only solo consultant here. He ranked 3rd for “seo brisbane” and 4th for “best seo agency brisbane” and appeared in Bing, but no AI assistant named him. His site says he started his consultancy in 2015, has no employees or outsourcing, and charges most clients $2,500 to $5,500 or more a month on rolling month to month terms with 30 days notice. 10. Digital Nomads HQ (Brisbane City satellite office)
Its head office is in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast, with a satellite office at Level 4, 260 Queen Street. Its Brisbane SEO page ranked 14th for “seo agency brisbane” and Claude named it. It publishes SEO retainers from $1,500 a month on month to month terms, shows 5.0 from more than 165 reviews, and sells an AI search framework it calls Searchlight. It lists Global Agency Awards finalist places for 2025 and 2026.
11. RankingCo (West End)
Claude named RankingCo, and one of its own list articles ranked 14th for “seo brisbane”. Its office is at 20 Bailey Street, West End, and it names CEO and co-founder Amber Porter. The site says there are no lock-in contracts, only 30 days notice, and states an internal target of page one rankings for up to 50% of keywords in six months. It lists ChatGPT Advertising as a service. No prices are published.
12. Supple Digital (Brisbane CBD)
Named in both ChatGPT answers and by Claude, but not in Google’s top 20 or the map pack on our Brisbane searches. Its Brisbane office is at Level 22, 69 Ann Street, and it is the same agency, with a Melbourne office in Richmond, that scored well in our Melbourne SEO agency rankings. Its Brisbane digital marketing page says “we guarantee to improve your search engine rankings”. It lists AI SEO and publishes no prices.
Who publishes a price in Brisbane
Price is the first thing buyers ask and the hardest thing to find. Here is what the 11 ranked Brisbane agencies say on their own sites, with our own published price at the top of the table.

Put the published SEO prices together and a small Brisbane business is looking at $1,200 to $2,500 a month to start, with competitive or multi-suburb work at $4,800 and up. That is close to the Melbourne packages we found, even though a Google Ads click on “seo brisbane” costs about $34 against $52 for “seo melbourne”. Not publishing a price is not a warning sign on its own, since many agencies prefer to scope first. But when 8 of 11 make you ask, the ones that print it save you a week of calls.
Visible in Brisbane, based somewhere else
Brisbane search results are full of agencies from elsewhere in Queensland and interstate. At least 4 of the 21 agency websites in Google’s Brisbane top 20 list no Brisbane street address on their own site: SIXGUN (Richmond, Victoria), Dilate (Fremantle, Western Australia), Digital Surfer (Burleigh Heads) and Tailored Media (a Gold Coast postal address). Zib Digital also ranked; its site blocked our requests and its Google listings are in Melbourne, Adelaide and Surfers Paradise.
The ones that scored best:
- Digital Surfer (4 signals): ranked 6th on two searches and was named by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Its head office is in Burleigh Heads.
- StudioHawk (2): named by Claude and in both Perplexity answers, but not in Google’s Brisbane top 20. Offices in Melbourne and Sydney.
- SIXGUN (2): ranked 4th for “seo agency brisbane” and appeared in Bing. Its only address is in Richmond, Victoria.
- Searcht (2): named in both ChatGPT answers and by Claude. ChatGPT described it as “Based in Spring Hill”, repeating a directory listing, but Searcht’s own site gives an address in Pottsville Beach, New South Wales.
- Searchical (2): held a map pack spot and was named by AI Mode. Its Google listing is on Eagle Street, but its website gives only a Surfers Paradise address.
The Searcht case is the one to remember. AI assistants repeat what directories say, and directories are not always current. Before you rely on “local”, check the address on the agency’s own contact page and its ABN on the government’s ABN Lookup, which lets you “check if an ABN is active or cancelled”. A strong agency can serve Brisbane well from another city, as we do from Melbourne, but you should know which you are hiring. Google’s guidelines for business listings explain what a Google address is meant to represent.
Google and the AI assistants in Brisbane
We saw the same split we found in Melbourne, only wider:
- 21 agency websites made Google’s top 20 across the three searches. Only 7 of them were named in any AI answer.
- The seven AI answers named 27 agencies, and 18 of those appeared in neither Google’s top 20 nor the map pack.
- 19 of the 27 were named by only one assistant. Claude alone named 14, nine of them in a single line it took from Clutch’s Brisbane list.
- Only Excite Media (four assistants) and Digital Surfer (three) were named by more than two.
- Bing’s top 20 for “seo agency brisbane” shared just 4 agency sites with Google’s: SIXGUN, BAMBRICK, Jared Bennett and Digital8.
The map pack told a different story. All four businesses that appeared in it on our searches (BAMBRICK, Resurge Digital, Rise SEO and Searchical) were named by at least one AI answer, and all four showed a 5.0 rating. The biggest search, “seo brisbane”, showed no map pack at all on the day. A complete, well-reviewed Google Business Profile seems to feed the assistants more reliably than a high organic ranking does, which matches what we cover in our guide to Google Business Profile optimisation.
Bing matters more than its market share suggests, because it is one of the indexes AI tools draw on. Of the 16 agency sites in Bing’s top 20, 12 did not appear in Google’s top 20 for any of our searches. What a Brisbane tradie would be told
We asked ChatGPT and Perplexity: “Which SEO company in Brisbane would you recommend for a trades business?”
ChatGPT named Supple Digital, Searcht and three trade specialists that appeared nowhere else in our data: Tradie Web Guys, Trade Foundry and TradeAds. It warned that one case study was “published by the agency itself” and suggested asking for Search Console and call tracking evidence, which is good advice. Perplexity named The Brisbane SEO Guy, Resurge Digital, StudioHawk, Excite Media and KINGTRADIE, and its first source was another company’s blog list of 22 Brisbane SEO agencies.
Digital8, the number 1 Google result for “seo agency brisbane”, made neither trades list. Excite Media was the only agency from that Google top 5 that did. Before you sign with a Brisbane SEO company
Google’s hiring guide lists ten questions to put to any SEO, including “What’s your experience in my country/city?” and “Will you share with me all the changes you make to my site?”. The full list is on Google Search Central. From our Brisbane data, add these:
- Where is the team that will do my work? A Brisbane address on a directory is not proof. Ask where the people sit and whether any work is outsourced.
- What does it cost, in dollars? Three agencies publish prices. For the rest, ask for the monthly fee, set-up fee and minimum term on one page.
- What is guaranteed, and what happens if you miss it? Two of the eleven use guarantee language. Resurge and Digital8 say the opposite: that rankings cannot be guaranteed.
- Can I see a Queensland client like me? Rise SEO and Resurge Digital both publish wording or case studies aimed at Brisbane tradies. Ask any agency for a local case study with calls or leads, not just traffic.

How we did this research
On 24 September 2026 we recorded Google’s top 20 and map pack for “seo brisbane”, “seo agency brisbane” and “best seo agency brisbane” (desktop, Australia). The ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Mode answers to “What is the best SEO agency in Brisbane? Give me a shortlist with reasons” come from our shared 24-prompt study run the same day, using the API versions of each assistant with web search on rather than the consumer apps. We added the trades question in ChatGPT and Perplexity and read Bing’s top 20 for “seo agency brisbane” in a browser set to Australia. We then read each agency’s homepage and up to nine other pages. Limits: each AI prompt ran once and answers vary between runs, Google results vary by suburb and day, pages we did not read may hold prices we missed, and the score counts visibility, not quality, across 11 Brisbane agencies.

Not automatically. What matters is experience with Brisbane suburb searches and proof of results for businesses like yours. Just make sure you know where the team is, because in our check several “Brisbane” listings led back to the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or interstate.
Is SEO replaced by AI?
No. The AI assistants in our test leaned on Google Business Profiles, directories and agency websites, which are the same things SEO work improves. What has changed is that you now need to be findable in those sources as well as in Google’s blue links.
Why does ChatGPT recommend different agencies to Google?
ChatGPT builds its answer from the pages its web search finds, and in Brisbane those were mostly Clutch and other directories rather than agency sites. Only 7 of the 21 agency sites in Google’s top 20 were named in any AI answer.
